The home of glacier - Sikkim

In the 17th century the kingdom of Sikkim was founded on the Silk Road by the National dynasty. It was ruled by a Buddhist priest-king known as the Chogyal. Very little is known about Sikkim ancient’s history but beyond the facts that its original inhabitants were the Lepcha. According to legend, Buddhist guru Padmasambhava visited Sikkim in the 8th Century AD, introduced Buddhism and the era of the Sikkimese monarchy.

Best time to visit in Sikkim is as good season to visit Gangtok as well as in Darjeeling. This is also the main reason why tourists combine to visit Gangtok with Darjeeling, although there are some differences in temperature and rainfall between the two places. The average annual temperature for most of the Sikkim is around 18C. One of the best times to visit Gangtok is during Autumn which is in the month October to November, where the weather stays extremely pleasant although it starts getting a bit cold in November and you will need warm clothes, but a good time and a big point is the clear sky and the beautiful views which is the excellent time for sightseeing and fun activities.
